Taro Naturals
At TARO Naturals, we use soy wax for our candles and wax melts. Soy wax is a natural wax that is derived from soybean oil. We chose to use this variety due to its cleaner and slower burning abilities. Our soy candles are homemade, and hand poured. They contain both pure essential oils, as well as fragrance oils that are infused with essential oils. The wicks are made of paper intertwined with cotton. They do not contain any lead or zinc. The oils that are used are phthalate free, paraben free, and are safe to use on the skin. We believe in the lasting effects that great scents have on people. It is our belief that some scents invoke different feelings in us. Different scents work their own “magic” as it were.
Some scents can bring nostalgic memories, oftentimes reminding us of loved ones in our lives. Some other scents could light a spark in us, to get our creative juices flowing. There are scents that make you feel hungry, while there are scents that can spark romance. There are seasonal scents for the delicious holidays and times of year, and there are scents for relaxation and the uplifting of our spirits. TARO Naturals’ scents come in different varieties, whether our customers prefer earthy, woodsy, floral, fruity, sweet, warm, fresh, clean, neutral, or bright. Whether you want to feel like you’re at a spa, in the kitchen with Grandma, relaxing at the beach, walking in the woods, or taking a stroll through fields of flowers and flower gardens, TARO Naturals has the scents that will add richness to your life.
Our Story

My name is Takisha Polk. I am the proud Black business owner of TARO Naturals. I am the “T” in TARO. The other letters represent the names of two extraordinary women in my life. The “A” stands for Alice, my mother. The “RO” stands for Rosemary, my favorite aunt. I loved them very much. They shaped who I am as a person. Unfortunately, both women have passed away, so I thought it only fitting to pay homage to them in my business. I could only hope that they’d be proud of me. I started this business while searching for a second job to supplement my income. I could not find anything suitable for my needs. I also knew that I needed and wanted to still be accessible to my son, as I am a single mother. One day, I watched a video on candle making. That’s when I decided to give it a try. I’ve always loved burning great-smelling
candles in my home. It has been five years now, and I haven’t looked back. I hope to make my customers happy for many years to come. Thank you for visiting my website. It will be my goal to add richness to your life through a variety of scents.
